5K Run/Walk World Famous Sausage Race

The seventh annual Sausage Race will take place Saturday, July 30th at 9:00 a.m. by the Klement's Sausage Haus parking lot at Miller Park. Entry fee includes T-shirt, hotdog/brat, soda and a Terrace Reserved ticket to the game. Presented by Brewers Charities, Inc. For details, call 414-902-4403.

Well....myself and a friend of mine decided to sign up for this. We don't plan on "competing", so to speak, by seeing what our fastest time could be. Rather, we plan on toting a cooler full of booze!! We figured we would have about an hour and a half before we would finish. I wonder how many Jack & Cokes we can have down by the time we cross that finish line.....Hmmmm.

Rickie Weeks has a very good shot at earning Rookie of the Year honors in the National League this year. Even though he was called up so far into the season, he still has a legit shot thanks in part to it being a poor crop of rookies this year. The line that Rickie has currently put up is .279/.373/.500/.873 with 7 homers and 7 stolen bases. Rickie's main competition, now that Rockies' SS Clint Barmes is out, is Pittsburgh lefty Zach Duke who is 3 - 0 with a 0.93 ERA in his first four starts. Obviously Duke will have to put up some gaudy numbers the rest of the way to remain in contention.
